Delhi metro ties up with Delhi Daredevils to promote awareness on passengers safety
Star cricketers like Virender Sehwag and Umesh Yadav will now raise awareness among the Metro commuters about basic Metro etiquettes such as keeping the system clean, not obstructing the closing of Metro train doors, not crossing the yellow line at platforms etc.
In an effort to create awareness among Metro passengers, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has tied up with the GMR Group owned Delhi Daredevils IPL Team. As part of this association, the star cricketers of the franchise will feature in a number of audio/video awareness messages pertaining to issues like passenger safety, ladies coach etc.
Apart from Sehwag and Yadav,Delhi Daredevils coach Eric Simmons and Robin Bisht have also appeared in these awareness films and a few more national and international players are expected to feature in these films in the days to come.
The Delhi Metro in association with Delhi Daredevils will also attempt to display social messages related to passenger behavior at different locations inside Metro stations and trains during the IPL-2012 period i.e, upto 27th May 2012.
As lot of people will be coming to watch IPL matches held in Delhi’s Ferozshah Kotla stadium, an exclusive kiosk will also be made operational inside the stadium during match days, where tourists/visitors/spectators can easily purchase Delhi Metro’s “Tourist Smart Card” for unlimited ride in the Metro for one day (Rs. 100) and three days (Rs. 250) validity.
Delhi Metro has also permitted GMR Group to sell IPL match tickets from its five prominent Metro stations with immediate effect. Tickets for IPL matches will be available from these stations from 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM on all days. The stations are: Rajiv Chowk, Kashmere Gate, Pragati Maidan, Janakpuri West and Netaji Subhash Place.
