Delhi Metro Runs a Specially Decorated Train With Slogans and Diwali Greetings to Inspire Public on the Importance of Cleanliness and Promoting a Clean & Green Environment
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, in its endeavor to spread the message of cleanliness and to promote clean & green environment has taken the initiative of running a specially decorated train with slogans and greetings on the occasion of Diwali. This train will run on Line-6 i.e, ITO to Escorts Mujesar with tastefully decorated exteriors to promote importance of cleanliness in the true spirit of ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ to inspire public especially, youth/children.
The exterior of this six coach train have been exclusively decorated in colorful theme of nature, spirit of festivity alongwith display of prize winning slogans on ‘Swachhta’. These slogans were part of an ‘online slogan writing competition’ organized by DMRC from 3rd to 7th October 2016 under its ‘Swachh Metro’ campaign. The Diwali Greetings include one liner messages to the public to provide clean and green future to their children by saying ‘No to Crackers’.
Delhi Metro at present carries around 30 Lakh passengers daily (weekdays) with a network of 213 KM and 160 Metro stations. Such an initiative has the potential to spread the message on importance of cleanliness and inspire everyone to contribute in the ‘Swachh Bahrat Abhiyan’, a Government of India initiative, by keeping their surroundings clean and staying away from any such act which damages the environment/surroundings.
METRO TRAIN SERVICES TO BE AVAILABLE TILL 10 PM ON DIWALI
On account of the Diwali festival the last Metro train service on 30th October 2016 (Sunday), will start at 10:00 PM (2200 Hrs) from terminal stations of all Metro Lines including Airport Express Line (Dilshad Garden, Rithala, Samaypur Badli, Huda City Centre, Noida City Centre, Dwarka Sector-21, Vaishali, Kirti Nagar, Inderlok, Mundka, ITO, Escorts Mujesar and New Dellhi & Dwarka Sec-21 Metro stations of Airport Express Line). Metro train services will run as usual for rest of the day on Diwali from 06:00 AM onwards on all lines and from 4:45 AM on Airport Express Line.
