Delhi Metro Museum Unveils Its Information Brochure in Braille on the Occasion of Its Eighth Anniversary

The Delhi Metro Museum today unveiled a special edition of its museum information brochure in Braille to commemorate its eighth anniversary.

The Braille brochure, printed both in English and Hindi will be very helpful for its visually challenged visitors, who will be able to get all the relevant information about the museum from this brochure.

The new brochure was launched today at the Metro Museum, Patel Chowk by Mrs. Veerbala, wife of DMRC’s Managing Director, Dr. Mangu Singh and the wives of the other directors of DMRC.

On the occasion, visually challenged children from the NGO Saksham performed a beautiful skit titled ‘Hum Kisi Se Kam Nahi’ in which they discussed about the various challenges as well as the facilities available for the visually challenged. A special storytelling session for the children was also organised by the museum in which a professional storyteller was roped in to narrate inspiring stories to the children.

On the sidelines of the event, a six day long art exhibition titled ‘Metro Through Their Eyes’ was also inaugurated by Mrs. Veerbala, in which a few orthopedically challenged children have articulated their love for the Delhi Metro through a series of paintings and artworks. The orthopedically challenged children belong to the NGO, Prerna Niketan Sangh.

The Delhi Metro Museum has always been very conscious about its social responsibilities. In the past also, drawing competitions, workshops etc have been organised for physically challenged children, kids undergoing treatment for cancer and special visits have been arranged for senior citizens.

The Delhi Metro Museum is one of the few museums globally which are dedicated to Metro railway. A treasure trove of display panels, historical photographs and exhibits about the Metro, the museum traces the genesis of the Delhi Metro. Since its inception, the museum has been visited by many eminent dignitaries, researchers and students.
