An incident occurred on Line 3 (Dwarka Sector 21 – NOIDA City Centre) today when a man (25) jumped in front of a Metro train at Mayur Vihar Extn. Metro station this morning.

The incident occurred at 11:44 am when an unidentified man, jumped onto the track just as a train from NOIDA City Centre was entering the platform at Mayur Vihar Extn station. The train operator immediately applied the emergency brakes but he was hit by the train before it came to a halt. He was immediately taken out from the under frame of the train and rushed to the nearest hospital by ambulance.

Prima facie, the incident appears to a case of attempted suicide. However, the police is investigating it further.
