DMRC Deploys Ex-servicemen for Customer Facilitation and Watch & Ward Services at Rajiv Chowk & New Delhi Metro Stations

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has taken a new initiative to deploy Ex-Servicemen (Ex-NCOs & Ex-JCOs) for Customer Facilitation and providing Watch & Ward services at Rajiv Chowk and New Delhi Metro stations. There are around 100 Ex-servicemen deployed to facilitate passengers and other related aspects of operations

Under Customer Facilitation services, the Ex-servicemen will provide services at Station Platforms, Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) Gates, Circulating Areas of station, other locations in and around station premises including station access points, galleries, Ticketing areas, Staircases, Escalators etc.

Under Watch & Ward services, they will guard service buildings (ancillary building, DG Room, Chiller Plant, Cooling Tower), theft prone areas, etc.

These Ex-servicemen are trained to be customer oriented while dealing with commuters / general public for under mentioned purposes:

Ø Overall crowd management
Ø Smooth de-boarding & boarding to & from the train
Ø Ensure proper queuing of passengers on the platforms,
Ø Assistance to differently-able passengers,
Ø To be on look out for suspicious commuters
Ø To prevent / restrict / warn against suicide attempts
Ø To guide the passengers on their queries related to journey
Ø To guide passengers in locating the correct entry point to the station
Ø Control movement of passengers at the station entry / exit points
Ø To keep circulating areas clear of unauthorized vehicles
Ø To keep entry / exits free from encroachment by vendors, vehicles, beggars, etc.
The Army Welfare Placement Organization, a registered Society is facilitating the services of these ex-servicemen to DMRC through M/s Cyclops Security and Allied Services Pvt. Ltd.

The services are on a trial basis for a period of one year and may be extended at other major stations of the Delhi Metro network based upon the feedback/performance of the experiment.
