Services on Line-1 (Dilshad Garden to Rithala) were affected today between Kashmere
Gate and Dilshad Garden section when a portion of OHE (Over Head Electricity)
wire got damaged/broke at four locations between Kashmere Gate and Shastri Park
Metro stations on UP line i.e, going from Kashmere Gate towards Dilshad Garden.
train services were mainly affected from 12:37 PM to 05:50 PM between Kashmere
Gate and Dilshad Garden section of Line-1. During this period trains were run
in two loops on Line-1 i.e,
line operations were undertaken between Kashmere Gate and Dilshad Garden section
on DOWN line to carry the passengers from one end to another, which resulted
into availability of trains at a higher interval (around 20 minutes) on the
stations falling on this section.

In order to ensure that the repair work is undertaken on a priority basis and minimizing
the impact of services on Line-1, specialized OHE teams comprising of 5-6
members each rushed to the site immediately form all the maintenance depots of
the Delhi Metro (eg. Najafgarh Depot, Sarita Vihar Depot, Shastri Park Depot,
Khyber Pass Depot, Sultanpur, Mundka Depot and Yamuna Bank Depot). The idea was
to ensure that all teams put up the joint efforts to restore the damaged OHE at
all four locations in least possible time.
