Delhi Metro To Provide Directional Signages At Interchange Metro Stations To Identify Platforms, Destination Station And Lines For The Convenience Of Commuters.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation is going to put special kind of directional signages for interchange at all its interchange Metro stations. These specific siganges would help the passengers to identify which platform, destination station or the line they intend to go or travel.
These signages will be put up on the floor near AFC gates so that the commuters, while entering into the paid area of the station can easily understand/identify which side of the station they need to go to board the right train. These signages will be bilingual i.e, in English and Hindi. There will be more such signages inside the paid area of concourse level which will further guide the passengers for a hassle free movement towards the right platform/line.
Presently, such siganges are installed at
Central Secretariat Metro station which is an interchange station for Line-2 (HUDA City Centre to Jahangirpuri) and Line-6 (Central Secretariat to Badarpur). Gradually, such siganges will be provided at other interchange stations like
Rajiv Chowk;interchange station for Line-2 (HUDA City Centre to Jahangirpuri) and Line-3 (Dwarka-21 to NOIDA City Centre),
Kashmere Gate;interchange station for Line-1 (Dilshad Garden to Rithala) and Line-2(HUDA City Centre to Jahangirpuri),
Inderlok; interchange station for Line-1(Dilshad Garden to Rithala) and Line-5 (Inderlok to Mundka) and
Yamuna Bank; interchange station for Line-3 (Dwarka-21 to NOIDA City Centre) and Line-4 (Yamuna bank to Anand Vihar).
Interchange directional siganges are quite popular in Tokyo Metro for its utility and passenger friendliness and the Delhi Metro expects that it will help the passengers of the Delhi Metro a great deal.
